Since 1988, the Chapter has distributed more than $825,000 in the form of over 410 scholarships to college students working toward a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology at a college or university. The Chapter awards more than a dozen $2,500 scholarships each July.

Applicant must pursue a Bachelor or Associate degree in construction or civil engineering and have at least a 2.50 gpa. Students must reapply each year up to three years of undergraduate study; many of our winners each year are repeat winners.1

Graduate students are also eligible for a one-year scholarship if they are studying full time for an advanced construction-related and are intent upon a career in the industry.

New Scholarship Opportunity – Diesel Technology Students

We have expanded our program to include a scholarship for Diesel Technology students. We are offering two $1,500 scholarships annually. Scholarship is contingent upon the student maintaining a 2.5 GPA pursuing a major in Diesel Technology as a full time student.

Applications are now open and must be received by May 15, 2010.

Additionally, AGC of America holds a scholarship program each fall. Information and downloadable applications can be obtained at http://www.agc.org/.

Anthony S. Santaro AGC Scholarship Golf Classic

The New York State Chapter, Inc., AGC Scholarship program is funded by our members through our annual Anthony S. Santaro AGC Scholarship Golf Classic; by individual member donations, and through endowments.

Held each year in June at the golf courses at Turning Stone Casino & Resort, the Golf Classic attracts more than 200 participants. We offer a five-man scramble and a two-man best ball competition on separate courses. The full-day event begins with a late morning shotgun start. All golfers enjoyed a barbecue lunch on the course, then meet for cocktails, dinner, prizes and our famous auction. This years event will be held on June 22, 2010. Information will be posted in April for registration for this years event. AGC members enerously donate items for our player gifts packs (packages of tees, sleeves of balls, golf towels, etc.). They also donate items for our auction. If you would like to donate items, please contact Brendan Manning at bmanning@agcnys.org or call 518-456-1134.
