    Multi-Employer Pension Reform Update

What Regulatory and Legislative Policy Changes Lie Ahead

Congress has spent the last several years considering policy changes to address the impending insolvency of multiemployer pension plans across the country as well as the future insolvency of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.  Recently the work of Congress has expanded considerably and now there are real threats to even healthy plans and the system as a whole.

The session will review the current financial shape of the multiemployer pension system and the proposed regulatory and legislative landscape in Washington DC.  The outcome of the 2018 election and the change in Congress along with the rapidly approaching 2020 Presidential Election is certain to bring additional politics into play.

    • Current state of play for policy changes
