The Resorts World Casino in Queens may get bigger.

The owner of Resorts World Casino, at Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, wants to add 1,000 video lottery machines and build a 400-room hotel, a 20,000-square-foot spa and resort, and a convention center. The plan calls for adding about 750,000 square feet to the existing facility, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The proposal would need approval from the state Franchise Oversight Board and state Gaming Commission. The $400 million expansion would be built on the west side of the casino, where a parking lot now sits. If all goes well, the bigger casino and additional facilities will open in April 2019.

The casino is operated by Malaysia-based Genting Group.
